ATLANTA, GA – After shocking the Warner Robins Demons by taking a 28-7 halftime lead,  it took three overtimes for the Beacats to prevail and hold on to win 47-41 in the Georgia Class 5A State Football Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The win was especially bittersweet given Warner Robins defeated Bainbridge earlier in the season by a score of  38-0 and Bainbridge entered the contest with five losses.  But the Bearcats’ defense jelled and propelled the team to a six game winning streak.  Bainbridge reached the state finals after defeating two highly ranked teams to include powerhouse Buford 23-20 and the celebrated defense minded Stockbridge 20-19 in the semifinals.
